Impact moling is an installation technique in which non-steereable and steereable, pneumatically-driven percussive moles are used to displace the soil and form a hole in to which the pipe is pulled.

This technique is very simple and cheap, and ideal for installing pipes and ducts in homogeneous grounds and over short distances.
